The Logo

As the geographical area of the municipality encompasses a huge diversity of peoples and cultures, all of whom being reliant upon agriculture, and as the transformation of local government, by means of the demarcation process, has effectively brought these peoples, their cultivations and cultures together under the umbrella of one district municipality, Council, after much deliberation, decided to name the municipality; "Sisonke" being the IsiZulu word for "Together".

In order to encapsulate the diversification of these demographics on a municipal "logo", Council, with due input from its constituents, adopted a design which has symbolically captured the essence of the word - Sisonke
